Wait, is this not SUPPOSED to be funny?

Ok, I'm bored. And maybe a little high of caffein (two cups of coffee and a Coke later...) but I run across this website on CBC and I can't stop laughing:

http://www.fishinghurts.com/

I'm reading through it and I keep surpressing the urge to be the giant shark from Finding Nemo, raising my right flipper and pledging "Fish are friends, not food."

I understand the science behind these claims, that fish are most likely more complex then the Average Jane, such as myself, gives them credit for. I also see the importance of enviromental issues related to net-dragging and over-fishing, but just as soon as I start to compose myself I glance over to the right-hand screen panel and see highlighted text that reads "The Hidden Lives of Turkeys" and its just all over. It doesn't help that the turkey in the picture definitely looks like it could be part of some sort of turkey-mob or any other illicit, even "fowl," (ok that was bad) activity.

Shut-up Megan, it's supposed to be serious.

Oh my god, I just found a link to Lobster Liberation.com.

A Request

Question:

When you guys see my blog, is the lettering enormously huge?? At home it looks fine but when I log on at work it looks like size 32 font or something. Let me know if it looks wonky to any of you so that I can figure out if/how I can fix it.

Thanks!

Registration Celebration!

Someone call the Pope, there’s been a miracle.

I got into my first choices. In the midst of the epic battle that is fourth year journalism registration, I managed to claw my way through piles of overly-competitive (not to mention entirely too scrappy) j-schoolers and nab a spot in the television and public relations courses I’ve been drooling over ever since the course lists came out a few months ago.

THIS IS SO FREAKIN’ AWESOME!!!

I’ve heard so many horror stories of fourth year registration, and nobody else I know got both their first choices. When I originally registered I got my last and second-last choices (Centretown News and online journalism), but today I followed the advice of Elizabeth, program administrator and j-school GODDESS (she’s pulled me out of more than one tight corner over the past three years!). She told me to log into the online registration system randomly throughout the day and try to register for the courses I wanted. She said spots open at different times during the day and I might get lucky.

You guys might want to start rubbing my head before exams because I logged on twice, and got in twice. It was really that simple.

I think I might go buy a lottery ticket. If I was ever going to win the million, it’s going to be today!
